Nightshift Shawl Kit
If you're ready to cast on Andrea Mowry's lovely Nightshift Shawl, we've got the yarn you need! Make this fun shawl in Malabrigo Rios, or a combination of Rios and Malabrigo Merino Worsted. It's soft -- it's squishy -- and the colours are unbeatable. The Nightshift Shawl is an addictive pattern that will keep you up late to finish just one more section.
The beauty of Nightshift is that you can make it however you want. But if you aren't sure where to start and how to plan your colours, we’ve got your back. Every one of our Nightshift kits comes with a helpful cheat sheet showing you which colours touch, which don’t, and our recommended order of colours from A to F. We put hours of (fun) work into each batch of kits, to make it easier for you to get a garment you’ll love. Please note that patterns are not included with the kit.
Foxgloves: Sweet but sophisticated, this charming kit is peaceful and just a little bit nostalgic. (Six skeins of Rios.)
Hanging Basket: Variegated yarns make each row uniquely beautiful in our Hanging Basket kit... summer might be over, but this shawl will stay gorgeous all year long. (Six skeins of Rios.)
Water Lily: If you’re an Impressionist at heart, this lovely, contemplative combination is the one for you. (Four skeins of Rios, and two skeins of Worsted.)
Picasso Blues: This moody, introspective combination is for the artistically inclined. (Four skeins of Rios, and two skeins of Worsted.)
Underworld: With its understated, subtly shifting colours, this kit combination is refined and introspective. (Six skeins of Rios.)
Spice Market: You’ll almost be able to smell the spices, hear the vendors calling out to you, and feel the warmth of the sun as you watch this vibrant colour combination come to life on your needles. (Four skeins of Rios, and two skeins of Worsted.)
Cirque du Soleil: Our original combination! Ideal for the daring and adventurous. (We even include a tiny ball of pearl-gray yarn in case you'd like to make yours just like ours.) (Six skeins of Rios, and one mini ball of Worsted.)

Loved the customer service, sweet care and interactions, gentle humor and excellent product.
This is my second time ordering from Saltwater Purls and I will keep coming back! Love the colour combination in the Hanging Garden kit. My order was shipped promptly, well-packaged for the mail and had a lovely personal touch inside.
Received the Foxglove Nightshift Kit and was pleasantly surprised. This was the first time ordering wool on line and would definitely do it again with Saltwater Purls. Started knitting right away and did not want to put it down (like reading a good book).
The pattern is just a little bit tricky at the beginning but you can go on U Tube to see how to start off and once you get the hang of the pattern it is a repeat all the way through and it produces a beautiful effect. I also love the borders as you knit it automatically produces a kind if I order. Also received a cute stitch marker with my order. All in all very satisfied and can’t wait to finish my shawl and proudly wear it this spring. Thank you.
Amazing service as always, and the yarn is perfect. The cheat sheet is AMAZING and super helpful. As soon as I got the package in the mail, I immediately wound the first 2 skeins and cast on right away because it was so darn pretty.
Super friendly, fast and personal service as always. I am a devoted Saltwater Purls customer! Thank you again, I love you guys!
I was expecting the kit for the Night Shift shawl to contain Rios yarn which I have used before.
Two of the six skeins were not Rios and are of a very different texture.
I tried using them but was not pleased with the look or feel.
As a result I have ordered those 2 colours in Rios from another supplier.
Not happy that I have had to spend additional money over and above what I paid for the kit.
Hi Elizabeth, I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t care for the Malabrigo Merino Worsted in your Nightshift kit; a few of the kits combine both Rios and Worsted to add a little different texture here and there. I apologize for the confusion: the two yarns are listed in the general product description, but I’ve now added that information to each individual kit description to make it more clear which yarn(s) are included.
It sounds like you’ve already replaced those skeins elsewhere, but if you have this experience again, please let me know so I can make it right before you spend additional money. I hope you have fun with the rest of your shawl! —Gwen
