Dotted Rays Shawl Kit
This kit was created by a happy accident: Gwen wanted to cast on a fade version of Stephen West's fantastic Dotted Rays shawl. When she started putting together yarn combinations, she suddenly realized that our Fading Point kits would work perfectly for this shawl, too!
The original Dotted Rays pattern is written for a single colour. We have included five colours in each of our yarn kits; you can change colour whenever you like as the pattern progresses. There aren't any right or wrong ways to do this one... it's an adventure!
Each of the skeins included in these kits contain a minimum of 400 yards per skein, for a total of at least 2000 yards. (The maximum yardage contained in any one kit is 2450yds.) Since the large version of the Dotted Rays shawl uses 1200yds, this means that you'll have plenty of leeway to decide when and where you'd like to change colours, and you'll have a nice amount of yarn left over for another project, too.
We've used a variety of beautiful yarns in our kits: Manos del Uruguay Fino (merino and silk), Malabrigo Mechita (superwash merino), Lichen and Lace 1 Ply Superwash (100% merino), Dream in Color Jilly (100% merino), Manos del Uruguay Alegria (superwash merino with polyamide), Malabrigo Sock (superwash merino), SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock (superwash merino with nylon), and/or Dream in Color Smooshy (superwash merino). Each kit contains either plied yarns or single-ply yarns (not a combination of the two).
Please note that the pattern is *NOT INCLUDED* with your yarn pack: it can be purchased from Ravelry here.
